Procedure
The Rules of Procedure for the Joint Advisory Appeals Board (JAAB) are set out in Administrative Circular 34.
A member of the personnel who wishes to challenge an administrative decision shall submit their appeal to the Chair of the JAAB through the Internal Justice Secretariat, using the Appeal Form.
Upon receipt of the appeal, the Internal Justice Secretariat will evaluate whether the requirements set out in §23 a) and b) of Administrative Circular nr. 34 are met.
To be receivable, an appeal before the JAAB shall meet the following criteria, in accordance with Staff Rules and Regulations R VI 1.07 and S VI 1.05:
- be lodged by a member of the personnel;
- challenging a review decision, or implicit decision of rejection of a request for review, provided that such decision has not already be reviewed by the JAAB;
- be lodged within the deadline of 60 calendar days of the written notification of the challenged decision or the implicit decision of rejection (R VI 1.04 and 1.05);
- be addressed to the Chair of the JAAB in writing and meet the requirements of §23 of Administrative Circular nr. 34.
